Ever wondered how closely Australia’s sex work advertisers match what clients are searching for?

Exploring what clients in the country are searching for on SimpleEscort reveals some surprising gaps.

Using the latest data from our platform, we compared the nationalities displayed by its ~1,000 registered advertisers in the last 90 days with how clients are filtering their searches.

Looking at which ethnic backgrounds dominate Australia's digital marketplace highlights some marketing implications for advertisers; for clients, it can help set realistic expectations about availability, and where you might want to book in advance.

Read on to learn which nationalities are the most common among escorts in Australia. If you’re an advertiser, find out why marketing your cultural identity might be strategic.

Who's Advertising: Australia's Top Escort Nationalities

Australian providers represent just 14.92% of advertisers on SimpleEscort; a surprisingly low proportion given that client searches for Aussie escorts are more than double their availability at 30.37%.

Japanese escorts make up the second-largest share of advertisers at 5.43%, followed by Thai at 3.29%, Brazilian at 1.86%, Korean at 1.55%, and Indian at just 1.04%.

The gap between what clients search for and what's available becomes more apparent when we compare these numbers. The biggest gap appears with “Indian” escorts: 8.15% of clients search for them, which is nearly eight times higher than the 1.04% of escorts actually declaring Indian nationalities. The pattern is similar for Thai escorts: 6.30% of client searches versus just 3.29% of advertisers, and smaller but still apparent for the “Nepali” filter, with 3.63% of client searches.

The reverse is true for Japanese escorts—despite being the second-most-common advertisers at 5.43%, "Japanese" doesn't appear anywhere in the top four client nationality searches.

If you're an Indian, Thai, or Nepali escort, this supply-demand gap suggests a significant market opportunity. Our data shows that clients are actively filtering specifically for your background, and you can capture that demand by visibly representing your ethnicity in your profile.

Why Nationality Matters in Digital Marketing

In SimpleEscort’s filtering system, declaring your nationality isn’t just part of our identity verification: it's a key way to stand out to users who view your profile.

Clients using SimpleEscort's “Nationality” filters and keywords are generally looking for something specific: particular physical characteristics, language capabilities, or service styles they associate with international backgrounds.

This can be particularly strategic if you’re advertising in crowded urban or metro areas like Sydney or Melbourne, which have both fiercer competition and more multiethnic escorts. Consider filling out your description with details that can help you get noticed. For example:

  • Language skills
  • Cultural references, and
  • Physical characteristics.

Let’s take a closer look.

Where Demand Concentrates: Australia's Top Cities

Zooming into city-level data, we can see that most platform users (25.55%) are searching in Sydney. This is followed by Melbourne at 17.38%, Brisbane at 17.27%, Perth at 10.07%, and Adelaide, which accounts for 7.09%.

Sydney's considerable user base—which is more than one quarter of the nation—isn’t too shocking given its dense population and status as Australia's main international gateway. Melbourne's second-place position makes sense, with its reputation as one of the country's most culturally diverse cities, where clients seem to be actively looking for providers who reflect significant Indian, Thai, and Korean communities.

Mobile Browsing Drives Behaviour in Cities

Our data shows that SimpleEscort Australia is overwhelmingly mobile-first, with 85.6% of users accessing the platform via mobile. Mobile browsing allows city-based clients to search during times when convenience is a priority, perhaps during commutes, lunch breaks, or on the go.

Why does it matter?

If you’re an advertiser, mobile-first behaviour could especially reward escorts who can respond quickly to same-day requests. It’s not a bad idea to keep your contact information up to date.

How Do Physical Characteristics Across Nationalities Factor In?

We can also look at body type declarations to see how escorts market their physical characteristics in the Australian market. “Curvy” dominates at 31.70%, then “slim” at 19.82%, and “athletic” at 12.25%. Plus-size or BBW escorts, typically listed as "very curvy," make up just 1.89% of advertisers. Although a small niche, it is still matched by dedicated demand across nationwide data.

Because SimpleEscort clients can use numerous filters and keywords simultaneously to narrow down their searches, body type preferences can often intersect with nationality searches. Our platform data doesn't break down body type by nationality, but escorts marketing multiple features of their identity, like "curvy Indian MILF," “trans Nepali cougar” or "slim Thai student", may capture searches across both filter categories at once.

Decriminalisation's Role in Transparent Marketing

Whether in decriminalised states like Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, or areas where licensing laws are implemented, all professionals’ nationality declarations are verified with government-issued documents.

For clients, understanding these patterns is a transparent look at the real state of the adult marketplace in a multinational and legally fragmented country. Whether you're seeking an Aussie companion in Sydney or an Indian escort in Melbourne, the filtering system enables matching based on your actual preferences.
